2025 Elections – Nomination, Eligibility requirements and Schedule Eligibility criteria for the Candidates
BOD Candidates: Must have become Life Members on/before December 31, 2023
Executive Committee Candidates:
a) Must have become Life Members on/before December 31, 2024.
Or
b) Must have been Members in 2024 and 2025 with membership fee for year 2024 paid on/before December 31, 2024, and membership fee for year 2025 paid on/before March 31, 2025.
Nomination requirements for the Candidates:
Self-nomination form along with a passport-size photo and a short biography (up to 500 words) that includes: their vision, past service to TRICIA, future service ideas/plans, and any other not- for-profit experience, if applicable. No use of TRICIA logo or any TRICIA property.
Nomination Submission and Election Schedule:
1) TRICIA NEC will send details of Nomination process including Election Guidelines and Nomination Forms by email to the TRICIA Members on September 27, 2025.
2) Interested candidates must send their Self-nomination forms, including the photo and short biography as stated above, by email to tricianec2025@gmail.com latest by October 8, 2025 4:00 PM EST. (Self-nominations only through Email)
3) NEC will request TRICIA Secretary to verify all self-nominations received and announcement of final list candidates to TRICIA members (by email with website link) on October 8, 2025.
4) Self-nomination withdrawal date is October 10, 2025, before 4.00 PM EST by email only at tricianec2025@gmail.com.
5) Final list of contestants will be posted on TRICIA website and TRICIA Members will be informed by email by October 11, 2025.
6) Absentee Ballots Request will be accepted only via email at tricianec2025@gmail.com from 10:00 am on October 11, 2025, until 4:00 pm on October 14, 2025 directly from the member. Only one email per household. Please write the name and address of the requester in the email.
7) Absentee Ballots will be mailed out on October 18, 2025.
8) Absentee Ballots must be returned post marked on or before October 27, 2025.
9) Elections will be held on November 2, 2025 (11:00 am until 4:00 pm) at the Hindu Cultural Center, Albany, NY.
10) Election Results will be announced on November 2, 2025.
Eligibility to Vote: All members who paid membership on or before August 31, 2025, are eligible. Membership List will be available in TRICIA website.
No Canvasing on days of the election inside the premises of HCC or in the parking lot. Candidates are not allowed inside the room where the voting will take place. Candidates can designate one person for observing election and voting. The designees are not allowed to do any type of canvasing. Designee’s information must be communicated to NEC two days prior to the election date (November 2, 2025).
