Eligibility criteria for the Candidates

BOD Candidates: Must have become Life Members on/before December 31, 2022
Executive Committee Candidates
a) Must have become Life Members on/before December 31, 2023.
Or
b) Must have been Members in 2023 and 2024 with membership fee for year 2023 paid on/before December 31, 2023, and membership fee for year 2024 paid on/before March 31, 2024.

Nomination requirements for the Candidates

Self-nomination form along with a passport-size photo and a short biography (up to 500 words) that includes: their vision, past service to TRICIA, future service ideas/plans, and any other not-for-profit experience, if applicable. No use of TRICIA logo or any TRICIA property.

Nomination Submission and Election Schedule

1)     TRICIA NEC will send details of Nomination process including Election Guidelines and Nomination Forms by email to the TRICIA Members on October 11, 2024.
2)     Interested candidates must send their Self-nomination forms, including the photo and short biography as stated above, by email to tricianec2024@gmail.com latest by October 23, 2024 4:00 PM EST. (Self-nominations only through Email)
3)     NEC in concert with TRICIA Secretary will verify Self-nominations received and Announcement of final list candidates to TRICIA members (by email with website link) on October 23, 2024.
4)     Self-nomination withdrawal date is October 25, 2024 before 4.00 PM EST by email only at tricianec2024@gmail.com.
5)     Final list of contestants will be posted on TRICIA website and TRICIA Members will be informed by email by October 26,2024.
6)     Absentee Ballots Request will be accepted only via email at tricianec2024@gmail.com from 10:00 am on October 26, 2024 until 4:00 pm on October 29, 2024 directly from the member. Only one email per household. Please write the name and address of the requester in the email.
7)     Absentee Ballots will be mailed out on November 2, 2024.
8)     Absentee Ballots must be returned post marked on or before November 11, 2024.
9)     Elections will be held on November 17, 2024 (12:30 PM until 5:00 PM) at the Hindu Cultural Center, Albany, NY.
10) Election Results will be announced on November 17, 2024.

Eligibility to Vote: All members who paid membership on or before August 31, 2024 are eligible. Membership List will be available in TRICIA website.

No Canvasing on days of the election inside the premises of HCC or in the parking lot. Candidates are not allowed inside the room where the voting will take place. Candidates can designate one person for observing election and voting. The designee’s are not allowed to do any type of canvasing. Designee’s information must be communicated to NEC two days prior to the election date (November 17, 2024).
