DIRECTIONS TO EMPIRE STATE PLAZA ALBANY
From The North:
Clifton Park, Saratoga, Glens Falls, Plattsburgh, etc.
- Take I-87 South (The Northway) to Exit 7.
- Merge into NY-7 East toward Troy/Cohoes.
- Merge onto I-787 South toward Albany and follow this road approximately 7.5 miles.
- Take Exit 3A for the Empire State Plaza.
From The South:
NYC, Poughkeepsie, Hudson, Long Island, etc.
- Take I-87 North (NY State Thruway) to Exit 23.
- Merge onto I-787 North toward downtown Albany/Rensselaer/Troy.
- Take Exit 3 for the Empire State Plaza.
From The East:
Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, etc.
- Take I-90 West (Mass Turnpike) to the Albany exit.
- Continue on I-90 West to I-787.
- Merge onto I-787 South toward Albany/Rensselaer.
- Take Exit 3A for the Empire State Plaza.
From The West:
Schenectady, Amsterdam, Binghamton, Buffalo, etc.
- Take I-90 East (NY State Thruway) to Exit 24 (Albany).
- Continue on I-90 East to I-787.
- Merge onto I-787 South toward Albany/Rensselaer.
- Take Exit 3A for the Empire State Plaza.
All visitor parking under the Empire State Plaza is now located in the V Lot (formerly known as P-3 North). Visitors entering the V Lot are required to show photo identification and their vehicle is subject to a search. Those wishing to utilize V Lot should exit the I-787 ramp to the Empire State Plaza and proceed along the traffic loop under the Plaza and bear right for V Lot (P-3). All oversized vehicles (in excess of 6′ 6”) will be accommodated on an as needed basis for up to 27 vehicles on P-1 North. Elevators will take you to the Concourse level of the Empire State Plaza.
Two visitor parking areas are located on Madison Avenue, which is just south of the Empire State Plaza. Both areas are within easy walking distance of the Plaza’s main concourse level and all building entrances. These areas are the Cathedral lot and the Madison Avenue lot. There is also a visitor lot located on Grand Street, just east of the Empire State Plaza East Garage. The Grand Street lot is conveniently located. You can easily access the Plaza as well as numerous downtown buildings from this location.
Handicapped parking is available in the V Lot (P-3 North). Oversized handicapped vehicles (in excess of 6′ 6”) will be accommodated on P-1 North. Metered parking is also available at street level (2 hour maximum) on Madison Avenue and State Street. Enter through either the Capitol or Museum end of the Concourse.

1. V Lot (P3 North Parking) – Empire State Plaza Underground Parking Level 3
2. Cathedral Park Lot – Madison Avenue east of Cultural Education Center
3. Madison Visitor Lot – Madison Avenue west of Cultural Education Center
4. Grand Street Surface Lot – Grand Street northeast side of ESP East Parking Garage
5. East Parking Garage – Corner of Eagle and Madison, east bound south mall arterial
6. Times Union Center Parking Garage – access from South Pearl Street ramp to Empire State Plaza
