Greetings! I am pleased to inform you that the TRICIA Board appointed Nomination and Election Committee (NEC) has now completed the elections for 2020 TRICIA team for the Executive Committee and the Board. The results are as follows:

Dear Tricia Members,

TRICIA will hold its election on Saturday, December 14th, 2019 at the HINDU CULTURAL CENTER, 450 ALBANY SHAKER RD, ALBANY, NY 12211 BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 1:00 P.M and 3:00 P.M.

WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE IN PERSON:
ANY OF TRICIA MEMBERS WHO HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CAST VOTE BY MAIL CAN COME IN PERSON WITH A VALID PERSONAL ID TO VOTE.

MEMBERS WHO DID NOT RECEIVE THEIR BALLOTS DUE TO THE ADDRESS CHANGE THAT WAS NOT UPDATED IN THE ORIGINAL LIST PROVIDED BY TRICIA TO NEC.
MEMBERS WHOSE BALLOT MAIL THAT HAS RETURNED TO THE NEC MAIL BOX.
MEMBERS THAT PROVIDED THEIR CURRENT ADDRESS TO NEC AND/OR TO TRICIA AFTER THE BALLOTS WERE MAILED.
MEMBERS WHO PROVIDED THEIR CURRENT ADDRESS AFTER THE ORIGINAL DEADLINE DATE.

MEMBERS WHO DID NOT MAIL THEIR BALLOTS BY THE EXTENDED DEADLINE DUE TO WEATHER OR TRAVEL DELAYS, ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THEIR ORIGINAL BALLOTS IN THE SAME SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE THAT TRICIA PROVIDED WHEN THE BALLOTS WERE MAILED. NO OTHER ENVELOPES OR BALLOTS WILL BE ACCEPTED OR CONSIDERED TO BE A VALID VOTE.

All other ballots that have been sent and received in the TRCIA NEC PO box by the extended post mark date of 12/07/19 will be picked by the NEC and brought to the premises for official counting. NEC will check and cross off all the member ballots and avoid duplicate vote casting.

The goal of NEC is to avoid any complications and make it a fair election to the best of their ability. All of the streamlining and laid out ground rules are to enable active and involved participation of TRICIA Members. This is in no way to hurt or hinder any one.

This communication package comes on the heel of the upcoming TRICIA ELECTION for various positions.

This package contains:
1. Cover letter with instructions to cast a valid vote
2. Ballots
3. Self-addressed stamped envelope to mail ballots back

As TRICIA has made sincere effort to increase the participation in the election process, we have sent notifications and materials pertaining to the upcoming election by email and also by Postal mail this year, We encourage the TRICIA MEMBERSHIP AND THE COMMUNITY TO ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE AND ELECT THE CANDIDATES OF THEIR CHOICE TO REPRESENT THEM IN THE COMMUNITY.

ALL members will receive ballots and return envelope, please make sure to use ONLY the envelope that is enclosed in this package, any other envelope that the NEC receives other than the provided self-addressed stamped envelope will be considered not valid, and disqualified. Ballots must be mailed back, post marked by December 3rd, 2019.

Ballots reflect only positions that are contested. Ballots carry the names of candidates and the positions they are competing for. Unopposed positions are not reflected on the ballot. Any ballot that is not clearly marked or have more than the required position will be invalid, please follow the instructions carefully and cast your vote for the candidates of your choice.

• NO MORE THAN 4 CANDIDATES FOR BOD
• ONLY 1 CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT
• ONLY 1 CANDIDATE FOR SECRETARY

Only those members whose ballot mail has been returned to the NEC MAIL BOX and verified by NEC TEAM will be allowed to VOTE IN PERSON upon proof of ID on December 14th, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. All other ballots have to be mailed by members by the deadline in order to be considered Valid. Any other ballot, for example, ballot brought in by a member will be deemed invalid. Election Results will be announced on December 14th, 2019.

2. Nomination Form for Prospective Candidates

Please read the requirements carefully before submitting your nomination. Any nominations that do not meet eligibility as mentioned in the form attached or are incomplete will be rejected. Upon receiving nominations candidate’s eligibility will be validated and all qualified nominations will be posted on TRICIA website. This year members will be able to get to know the candidates contesting before they vote as each candidate will be sharing their vision, past and future service to TRICIA or any other no-profit experience they have with you. Candidate’s picture and their write-up will be available on TRICIA website.

As directed by TRICIA Board this year we will be mailing ballots by postal mail to you. When you receive your ballots please review the profile of candidates contesting on TRICIA website, cast your vote and mail those ballots back in the self-addressed envelope post marked by December 3rd, 2019. Any mail that is returned to TRICIA NEC address will be kept aside and only those individuals would be allowed to vote in person on December 14, 2019. Any other person coming to vote in person unfortunately will be disappointed as we will not be able to let them cast vote once they have received the ballots in mail. Please use self-addressed envelope to cast your votes this year.

We would encourage you to be vigilant and report if you witness any voter fraud or irregularity in voting process by emailing at tricianec.2019@gmail.com. We will need each members help to keep this election process a fair one.

Eligibility requirements for members contesting:

Candidates must include a passport size photo and a short (500 word limit) write up that includes: Their vision, past and future service to TRICIA or any other no-profit experience they may have had.

Nomination Submission and Election Schedules:

  1. Nomination process will be emailed/sent by postal mail including Election Guidelines and Nomination form to the TRICIA Membership on Nov 5th, 2019
  2. Nominations can be sent back by email at …. by November 13th, 2019 until 4.00 pm or returned to NEC post box at: TRICIA NEC 2019, P O BOX 4394, HALFMOON, NY 12065, post marked by November 13th, 2019
  1. Nominations will be verified for eligibility and posted on the TRICIA Website on November 19th, 2019
  2. Nomination withdrawal date is November 21st, 2019 before 4:00 PM by email only at ….
  3. Announcement of final contesting candidates to TRICIA Members by email and on the website by November 22nd, 2019
  4. TRICIA will mail ballot by postal mail on November 24th, 2019 to all members
  5. Ballots must be mailed back in the self-addressed, stamped envelope provided by NEC, post marked by December 3rd, 2019. Ballots returned in any other means will be considered as invalid.
  1. Eligibility for Candidates:

BOD Candidates: Must be a Life Member before December 31st, 2017

EC Candidates:

  1. Must be a Life Member before December 31st, 2018 or
  2. Must be an Annual Member in 2018 (paid in 2018 before December 31st, 2018 and 2019 (2019 Annual Membership must have been paid on or before March 31st, 2019)

Eligibility to Vote: All members who paid membership on or before August 31st, 2019. Any questions from candidates related to nomination and election process, eligibility, confirmation email, etc. should be directed to NEC via email.
